As a Process Improvement Associate II in the Process Intelligence team, you will develop discrete-event simulation models that support predictive dashboard content, process transformation efforts and other what-if scenarios for our business stakeholders. Simulation Models are typically part of a broad approach to enable stakeholders with data insights and visualizations to empower data-driven decision-making. You will have an opportunity to leverage your outstanding skills in data mining, analytical problem solving, communication, project management, and interpersonal relationship management to effectively evaluate and understand business processes through data and develop accurate discrete-event simulation models. In addition, you should be adept at building relationships with clients, excel at presenting analytical insights in an interesting and insightful way, and be able demonstrate business value as an outcome of work product.

Job responsibilities:

  • Translate raw, complex, and ambiguous business process data into meaningful insights that can be used to support simulation modeling and analytics engagements
  • Support full-stack simulation model development (data gathering, exploration, manipulation, and visualization; model development; model validation)
  • Build and deploy prototype solutions to demonstrate concepts and prove business value
  • Perform assessments of the business to clearly define a problem statement, formulate an initial solution strategy, and achieve stakeholder agreement on proposed analytical work
  • Actively manage the timely completion of all engagement milestones and tasks on long-term projects
  • Proactively communicate with the sponsor, key stakeholders, and subject matter experts throughout the engagement as appropriate to foster strong relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Deliver quantifiable and documented business value for the work performed

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a quantitative field; degrees in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Finance a plus
  • 3 plus years working on complex, highly-visible analytical projects in a large-scale, corporate or global finance environment
  • Practical experience with discrete event simulation and/or agent-based simulation software such as Simio, Simul8, FlexSim or AnyLogic
  • Experience managing and processing large, unstructured data; familiarity with data warehousing and transformation tools and processes with exposure to multiple database technology implementations
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills; adept at navigating an ambiguous, semi-structured work environment
  • Superior ability to structure and scope complex problems, apply a range of analytical tools, gain and synthesize insights and develop solutions
  • Client management skills - Able to closely partner with senior leaders, supervisors, front line employees and other stakeholders on projects

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Proficiency in software for manipulating, modeling, and visualizing data (SAS, SQL, Alteryx, and/or Python preferred; knowledge of Tableau is a plus)
  • Project management skills – Able to frame projects and establish required governance to move projects forward. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and management consulting experience
  • Practical experience with and theoretical knowledge of statistics (regression, distribution fitting, forecasting, bootstrapping)
  • Deep curiosity, creativity, and imagination; continuous learner

This is a Hybrid position which will require the incumbent to commute/work on site 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week.
