Job Description

J.P. Morgan Securities offers advisory and consulting services through its managed programs platform. As an analyst from the Asset Screening team, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of client accounts with established program guidelines. Daily, you will compare securities funding newly advisory accounts against a known ineligible securities list. Any identified ineligible securities will be escalated to the Financial Advisor (FA) or Client Advisor (CA) for liquidation. This role requires coordination with multiple parties, including Fee Billing and Financial advisors, to resolve and document discrepancies. Additionally, you will identify and promote automation ideas to enhance the function while ensuring proper controls are in place. Your primary objective will be the pre-review of accounts to ensure they are properly funded and free of ineligible securities before being set up for the Advisory Program. You will document this information and collaborate with the Supervision Team to ensure accounts are not enrolled until they are in good order.

In this role you will be facing different challenges such as:

  • Out of the box thinking for resolving daily queries from our many stakeholders from the business, including clients as well
  • Performing daily analytical activities where you will put to practice your knowledge, skills and independent thinking.
  • Strong partnership with key stakeholder, finding ways to collaborate.
  • Balancing daily operational tasks with projects and initiatives.

These challenges require a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across different functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the function and relevant processes end to end. Cross training is implemented in a monthly basis, giving the team resiliency tools for back up.
  • Understand the fundamental concepts related to operational flow
  • Identify issues, analyze problems and provide viable solutions
  • Attend regular group meetings with managers to ensure appropriate communication; escalate issues; incorporate feedback into day-to-day processes
  • Adhere to operating procedures; ensure procedures are up to date; non routine tasks should be reviewed and documented as necessary.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Graduate or bachelor student in finances, economics or administration.
  • Advanced written and oral English skills (used on daily basis with US Management, US counterparties and Financial Advisors)
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, is a plus
  • Problem-solving skills, facilitate the understanding of the problem and possible solutions.
  • Client/customer focus: Be able to assist internal clients and prioritize queries
  • Team player
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workloads and work to critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Able to quickly adapt to different scenarios as per the internal client requirements, industry changes and procedures
  • Able to deal with deadlines to meet the daily cut offs.
  • Familiarity and usage of Tableau, Alteryx, Xceptor (preferred)
