Today
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale by designing and qualifying measurement technologies, control strategies, and information systems. Develop and implement cutting edge quality inspection tools like optical measurement machines, mechanical tester profilers, hand held gauges, go-no-go inspection systems, and visual inspection standards to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics. Analyze and evaluate data to figure out appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications to determine production conformance to product and cosmetic requirements. Lead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields and partner with multi-functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase. Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as project manager to lead efforts at supplier locations by defining project requirements that are aligned with product needs, and tracked against the project charter and its deliverables to meet ramp. Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure consistency to quality standards through the coordination and its execution at the vendor site along with in region support and vendor representatives. Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes while working with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Identify through quality inspection and metrology systems potential failure modes that require driving preventive and corrective actions multi-functionally with internal and external team members. Present quality readiness, performance, and path to closure on challenges to cross functional and executive audiences using statistical analysis, problem solving methodologies, and computer presentations during meetings. International travel required 25%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
