• Partner with operations to identify packaging/labeling defects impacting operations, including safety hazards created by packaging.
• Manage the development of Packaging concepts with Packaging Vendors and Component part Suppliers, ensuring material conformity and personnel safety.
• Plan and direct activities concerned with design and development of packaging. Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of component, special handling and safety requirements.
• Create detailed packaging specifications for both components and manufacturing kits, including clean room compliance.
• Define standard labeling and barcoding specifications and partner with supply chain to drive adoption by suppliers. Monitor adherence to standards and drive corrective actions as appropriate.
• Scope new technology and/or opportunities in the packaging space.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing.
- 1+ years of experience working with CAD/CAM software (e.g. NX, Solidworks, CATIA, AutoCAD)
- 3+ years experience with clean room packaging requirements.
- Knowledge of ISTA test protocols.
- Understanding of packaging testing, materials, and processes.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven track record of creative package design.
- Experience designing packaging for large metallic components.
- Knowledge of sustainability, recycling, and regulations
- Industry association .participation.
- Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, and/or Consumer Electronics industries.
