The Trainer Intermediate is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Delivers product, technical, systems, sales, behavioral and skills-based training in a classroom or virtual environment.
- Delivers nationally developed curricula in a consistent manner applying principles of adult learning theory.
- Manages the learning environment to ensure desired outcomes are achieved including the transfer of learning.
- Displays solid knowledge of course content and materials.
- Uses PBWM Learning assessment tools to measure and analyze training results and identify gaps in learning; communicates curriculum gaps to Design and Development team.
- Creates individualized coaching plans that ensure new hire and incumbent learner success.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure learner and partner satisfaction with training outcomes.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
- The Business Trainer Intermediate may work in an adaptive, self-managed, cross-functional Agile development team where additional duties may arise including, but not limited to:
- Support the intake of new learning requests through consulting and needs analysis as well as implementation of final product (including building and influencing key relationships across HR, L&D and the business); measure business outcomes.
- Supporting design and development of training solutions using a variety of learning tools and modalities in partnership with business and learning partners
- Observing and/or facilitating created curricula in both classroom and virtual environments and collaborating with key partners to ensure learner success
Qualifications
- 2-5 years relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous training experience preferred
- Flexible with schedule (days/nights/ability to travel up to 10%)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time to support classroom delivery
- Ability to sit for long periods of time to support virtual delivery
- Strong leadership, collaboration and interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and virtual learning technology
- Able to diagnose performance opportunities using reporting
- Able to create actionable coaching plans that produce a change in behavior
- Excellent one-on-one, group presentation and facilitation skills
- Professional demeanor, detail oriented, and able to interact in various business situations
- Able to organize and prioritize workload
