This is a senior manager role to support current UK and German Legal Entity Management, Statutory and ESG reporting tasks across Europe and MEA region with focus on UK and Ireland, as well as driving automation, new regulatory requirement implementation and additional migration initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 35+ people that is responsible for the preparation of statutory, management and ESG reports of selected Citigroup entities in Europe and MEA region, as well as provide technical support for user of the financial statement preparation software;
- Work with digital initiatives teams to deliver on automation projects;
- Closely monitor the team's work, manage capacity and ensure deadlines are met;
- Build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with stakeholders, including country finance teams, senior management, technology partners, internal audit, external audit and peer team managers;
- Lead key initiatives/projects and controls, as well as maintain working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and accounting developments;
- Utilize knowledge of finance/accounting/ESG concepts to ensure accurate reporting filings;
- Drive re-engineering, process efficiencies, and continuous process improvement efforts to strengthen controls;
- Lead regulatory exams, internal audits, and address external audit questions; and
Ideal background:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous experience preferably in Big 4 in auditing statutory financials
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with experience in driving change at scale in global organizations
- Requires strong communication skills and comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within the finance function
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Ability to communicate with others across functions
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
