Partner with best-in-industry Suppliers to provide Materials, Products, Innovation, and Services that drive a competitive advantage for Boston Scientific. Responsible for developing and executing optimal commodity & sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Build & enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, whilst reducing or mitigating risk in the Supply Chain.
- Monitors market dynamics and communicates changes that affect internal client needs.
- Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, conduct buyer/market profiles, share marketplace trends, share best practices, increase value proposition, and reduce TCO.
- Responsibilities may include negotiations for price centric products and services with supervision, but is primarily involved in supporting others.
- Under direction utilizes strategic sourcing methodologies (spend analysis, market research, benchmarking, negotiation, contracting and continuous improvement) to support the category team to refine and execute category strategies that incorporate stakeholder feedback and meet Global Sourcing objectives for Quality, Services and Cost.
- Represents organization with integrity as a primary contact on supplier contracts. Responsible for contract and vendor management activities such as strategic reviews and site visits.
- Maintains supplier performance review metrics & scorecards.
- Coordinates commercial actions with internal stakeholders.
- Supports identification and mitigation of risk.
- Supports service escalations.
- Support documentation for the annual budget process for all assigned suppliers. Ensure inputs are correct, work to prevent supplier-related unfavorable PPV and address any proposed increases. Seek out cost reductions with supply base at every opportunity.
- Establish and cultivate internal and external business relationships to drive from concept to the completion of value improvement projects. May participate in project teams.
Qualifications:
- Current Bachelor's student in your Junior or Senior year or grad student. Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship to qualify.
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or related field
- Training or experience with cost modeling, data analysis and negotiation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
