Responsible for leading and handling one or more sophisticated projects to deliver the agreed scope within planned quality, time, and cost parameters to satisfy the specified project requirements. Supporting the overall business case, targeted margins, and cash flow objectives.

You will work towards your goals by demonstrating a clear understanding of the project business structure, good and proactive interpersonal skills, an ambitious attitude, and the ability to multitask and coordinate with various functions.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Getting involved early within the project at the proposal stage and driving material cost optimization. Development and analysis of Costed Bills of Material, using historical data, parametric analysis, and current market trends.

Establishing material budgets and supervising costs through the project execution phase.

Simulate and analyze different index and critical issue scenarios based on historical information, available market intelligence data, and actual Purchasing data.

Coordinating with various commodity managers for supplier negotiations to ensure the optimization of project spend. Coordinate Supplier meetings for Design-to-Cost workshops. Work with Suppliers, Engineering, and Supply Chain on cost-cutting measures.

Implementing professional sourcing processes coordinating procurement activities to ensure the supply base meets the project’s cost, delivery, and quality requirements and proactively driving procurement strategies in the project process.

Bachelor’s degree- focus on supply chain or engineering field desirable

5+ years of project experience

3-5 years' experience reporting costs versus budgets in a project environment

Proficient in cost tracking and risk evaluation

Proven broad supply chain knowledge

Skilled in digital tools, including MS Office, specifically Excel

Demonstrated solid communication and listening skills

SAP experience a plus

Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill a Commodity Management Associate to drive the development and implementation of a procurement strategy and proactively engage the business and cross functional partners to ensure alignment with business requirements, early procurement, and supplier involvement. You will work to achieving financial and non-financial targets by application of all relevant procurement levers, i.e. negotiations, supplier management, contract management, and delivery reliability. This role will report into the head of commodity management and plays a key role in driving a strong culture of accountability, execution, collaboration, and customer focus to develop and implement a procurement strategy for assigned commodities. The role will be based in Lexington, NC working in a hybrid setting.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manage the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of assigned commodities.
  • Establish best in class supply-chain-management processes focused on productivity, quality, and availability.
  • Derive innovative material field strategies based on market intelligence, gear procurement processes towards strategic objectives. Ensure implementation and development of Siemens strategy, for assigned commodities.
  • Drive supplier management processes to obtain the best suppliers and ensure transparency and early integration.
  • Lead supplier management in commercial issues, supplier qualification, development, and overall relationship management.
  • Negotiate master procurement agreements, including pricing, terms & conditions, payment terms in alignment with the wider Siemens community.
  • Apply supply market intelligence, Siemens spend pooling, and all commercial and technical levers to drive productivity.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and lead supplier relationships to ensure alignment with company objectives and standards.
  • Conduct Siemens spend data, supply market intelligence, supplier analysis.
  • Develop and implement, with cross functional input, commodity strategies, pooling strategies, supplier strategies & negotiation roadmap
  • Leverage supplier expertise and/or technology to harness improvements in reducing total costs of ownership.
  • Collaborate with global commodity management and/or product management while optimizing company-wide buying power by reviewing the financial, quality, pricing, service, and availability level of suppliers.
  • Develop supplier relationships resulting in optimized supply chain efficiencies and security of supply. Evaluate supplier's capabilities and capacities while implementing plans to ensure adequate supply of goods and services. Negotiate agreements with suppliers that mitigate or spread the overall risk.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering or business-related degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of overall experience related to supply chain.
  • Consistent record of success in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings and supply chain improvements.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorable contract terms and agreements.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, supplier risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of entire supply chain and cost drivers.
  • Demonstrated data and financial analysis capability.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with both internal and external partners.
  • Microsoft Suite computer skills, with exceptional skills in Excel & working with large data sets.

  • Ability to travel 10-15% domestically.
  • Setting you apart from others would be experience with SAP and electronic purchasing tools. Cross functional/organizational project management and facilitation skills and demonstrated knowledge of category management concepts or strategic sourcing concepts with solid continuous improvement skills. CPM, CPSM certification a strong plus. Experience in managing C-level parts such as hardware, consumables, chemicals, connectors, wire harnesses etc. would be outstanding.

Our Sales team supports our Operations team whose focus is to perform fire/life safety service and maintenance in large commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities.Our Sales Executives are ambassadors of quality Siemens technology, products and services, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customers will help them optimize and facilitate a safe, emergency-ready workplace.

, you will:

  • Achieve new order/booking and profit goals based on your assigned quota.
  • Develop andmaintaina qualified funnel of opportunities including forecasting expected order intake.Deliver onforecasted results consistently.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, competitor offerings, customers, and decision influencers across the region, segments, within the region. Keep current on automation, electrical, fire, mechanical, andIoT marketbusiness and product trends.
  • Develop account management plan that focuses on strategic growth.Identifynew business opportunities to grow in new markets or adjacent segments and develop “go to market” strategies to drive business to the end user customer and the standard construction channel.
  • Act as a consultant to multiple levels of the customer’s organization by understanding their challenges and recommending services to ensure their building systems perform asrequiredto achieve business goals.
  • Attendindustry-specific networking events; activelyparticipatein professional organizations such as NFPA, NFSA, ASHE, NBFAA, AFAA, IFMA, SAME, 7x24, etc. to build a network of contacts and torepresentSiemens in the market.
  • Consult with the customer anddeterminebudgeting and investment requirements.
  • Position Siemens as an industry leader among service providers,leveragingSiemens world-class digital service delivery as a key differentiator.
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Work with your internal sales support to enable you to spend more time with your customers.
  • Collaborate with sales estimators to prepare cost estimates and customer bid packages.
  • Partner with other sales business teams to plan, target, andacquirenew projects and accounts.
  • Set pricing based onidentifiedvalue of the services offered to the customer.
  • Work with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources to obtain the sale.
  • Activelyparticipatein sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.
  • Expected to spend minimum 50 - 60% of time in customer facing activities, performed in person and on customer site.
  • Work with existing customer base supporting their needs as well as act as a hunter to bring in new customers to the business.
  • Have developedorganizational, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Travel overnight ~10% for training and business development asrequiredbased on your assigned territory.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering OR 1+ years of experiencewith sales,account and business development, or consulting within thecommercial fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, life safety or similar commercial building/construction industries.
  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Verbaland written communication skillsin English
  • Experience withMicrosoft Office suite
  • Must be21years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limitedviolations
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
  • NICET Level II Fire Alarm Certification
  • 5+ years of experience with sales,account and business development, or consulting within thecommercial fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, life safety or similar commercial building/construction industries.
  • On-the-job experience with:
    • Selling service agreements to multiple levels of the customer’sorganization
    • Common fire and life safety systems and equipment
    • Building safety inspection codes and standards(IFC, IBC, NFBA, CMS, etc.)
    • Estimatingand sellingtechnical solutions and servicingofferings effectively and

What your day-to-day will look like:

Getting involved early within the project at the proposal stage and driving material cost optimization. Development and analysis of Costed Bills of Material, using historical data, parametric analysis, and current market trends.

Establishing material budgets and supervising costs through the project execution phase.

Simulate and analyze different index and critical issue scenarios based on historical information, available market intelligence data, and actual Purchasing data.

Coordinating with various commodity managers for supplier negotiations to ensure the optimization of project spend. Coordinate Supplier meetings for Design-to-Cost workshops. Work with Suppliers, Engineering, and Supply Chain on cost-cutting measures.

Implementing professional sourcing processes coordinating procurement activities to ensure the supply base meets the project’s cost, delivery, and quality requirements and proactively driving procurement strategies in the project process.

Bachelor’s degree- focus on supply chain or engineering field desirable

5+ years of project experience

3-5 years' experience reporting costs versus budgets in a project environment

Proficient in cost tracking and risk evaluation

Proven broad supply chain knowledge

Skilled in digital tools, including MS Office, specifically Excel

Demonstrated solid communication and listening skills

SAP experience a plus
