As the Employee Communications and Engagement manager, you will cultivate a meaningful employee experience and culture for our employees in key offices, including Austin and Scottsdale, and our virtual employees, driving events and communications to connect and inspire our employees to do their best work and bring our PayPal vision to revolutionize commerce to life. You will serve as the center of excellence for local offices and advisor and enabler for key stakeholders, partners, and employee resource groups in the region. You will drive effective employee communications and engagement initiatives, laddering up to regional and global communications strategy and priorities.


What you will do:

  • Plan and execute local and virtual employee events and programs; maintain site calendars of events

  • Develop and execute local and virtual communications and promotions, including web pages, newsletters, posters, signage etc.

  • Maintain budgets, vendor relationships, etc.

  • Maintain and build on Center of Excellence model and enablement model for global, regional and site communications, with guidelines, process, and reviews, along with customizable templates and materials.

  • Lead the review and approval process for team and stakeholder communications.

  • Partner closely with our site and virtual leaders, on-site business leaders, HR and community teams.

  • Serve as the point of contact and connector across all elements of the site- including facilities, HR, executive leaders, etc.

  • Measure the impact of experiences and communications in driving overall employee engagement.

  • Identify issues related to employee engagement and recommend best practices for improvement.

  • Lead functional projects and programs that enhance workplace environments.

  • Partner with teams to analyze business trends and their impact on employee satisfaction.

  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, such as internal forums and community activities.

  • Contribute to shaping a positive organizational culture through effective communication strategies.

What do you need to bring-

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engagement or events for a globally dispersed workforce.

  • Extremely proactive in identifying needs and jumping in to solve them.

  • Excellent writer, who can make and can articulate complex ideas simply, creatively and with heart.

  • Passion for driving understanding of business strategy, priorities and building community and sense of belonging among employees.

  • Comfortable and effective in serving as a strategic communications partner to senior leaders; able to confidently offer ideas and negotiate communication plans, both verbally and in writing.

  • Creative and engaged in new forms of digital content and communications channels.

  • Ability to embrace ongoing change, pivot quickly, and effectively deliver against tight deadlines; demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and grace under pressure.

  • Enjoy both strategizing and “rolling up your sleeves” to execute plans.

  • Highly organized and able to effectively juggle multiple prioritiessimultaneously.

  • Diplomatic, with the ability to identify and manage organizational and cultural sensitivities.
