Initial duties for the entry level position will include, but are not limited to, geometric design of roadways including design of horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation design, grading, drainage (hydrology and hydraulics), signing, striping, erosion control, maintenance of traffic during construction, quantity take-offs, and design review. You will work closely with our talented project teams through all phases of plan production as we carry projects from concept design to bid ready documents. As a Entry Level Highway CAD Designer, you’ll work collaboratively on multi-discipline projects with other technicians and engineers in the roadway and structural groups. You’ll apply your CAD software skills and knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices and techniques to develop design plans. Construction phase work assignments may include preparing sketches and reviewing shop drawings. You will be responsible for meeting deadlines and ensuring the plans adhere to all internal and client specific quality standards.
- Working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD
- Ability to produce accurate, neat and effective drawings
- Familiarity with CAD standardsIdeally, You’ll Have:
- Technical degree in computer-aided design (CAD)
- Experience as a highway CAD technician
- Experience with Geopack, Inroads. OpenRoads, OpenBridge, Civil 3D
- Experience working with working in a team environment with good communications
