Responsibilities

Support Citi’s global IP department.

• Review and counsel on trademark, social media, copyright, publicity rights, and related intellectual property legal issues that implicate corporate and consumer-facing advertising and promotional activities, such as marketing and sponsorships.

• Trademark clearance and prosecution.

• Draft and negotiate trademark, social media, copyright and publicity agreements and/or licenses.

• Support U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright enforcement efforts, including trademark oppositions and cancellations, UDRP disputes, etc.

• Work with department paralegals who support various activities such as trademark/ patent maintenance, docketing, and prosecution matters.

Qualifications

At least 8-12 years of experience as a practicing intellectual property attorney; JD degree in good standing and State Bar membership required. PTO registered patent attorney and software experience is a plus, but not required.

Strong verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Ability to manage a high volume of work and deadlines with flexibility. Can quickly adapt to changing priorities.

Global trademark clearance, prosecution, and licensing experience.

General knowledge of advertising and marketing law and social media-related laws.
