Job Description:

This role is reporting into the Senior Manager, Compensation, TD Securities Finance, and will be responsible for the reporting of compensation related matters, advice and analysis.

Job Details
  • Lead the production i.e. end-to-end process of booking entries for Wholesale Banking variable compensation accruals with a focus on highlighting key drivers of results and ongoing impacts driving changes to the business.

  • Serve as a first point of contact to stakeholders for commentaries, supporting documentation, and team administrative requests.

  • Understand and revise the single rate funding model to determine variable compensation pool for monthly accruals, plan and forecast cycles.

  • Liaise with our finance and HR partners to gather relevant information to understand and prepare relevant financial commentary.

  • Perform G/L reconciliations and attest to the variable compensation, severance and restructuring string balances.

  • Process ad-hoc requests and implement updates to legacy processes.

  • Identify innovative ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's processes and participate in the remediation efforts in streamlining account attestation processes.

  • Continuously develop value added management reporting and build a fundamental understanding of business strategies and the impacts and drivers of financial results for TD Securities.

Role Requirements
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with key business and finance partners, and other stakeholders, and effectively communicate relevant / meaningful recommendations to senior management.

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities required to understand and interpret financial results.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills to meet deadlines with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • You are required to demonstrate governance, control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices.

Education/ Other Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree

  • 3+ years relevant experience

  • Accounting or industry specific designation is preferred (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA, CFA, MBA)

  • High level proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Understanding of the Bank’s management and financial reporting processes

  • Knowledge of the Bank’s financial reporting system (i.e. Hyperion and prior experience in running Hyperion queries is preferred)
