Key accountabilities include:
Play a lead role in driving strategy and delivering external communications for TD Securities, including media relations both proactive and reactive, and owning flawless communication materials, including press releases, articles, media pitches and announcements.
Liaise with media and TDS spokespeople and senior executives to identify and manage media requests as well as provide strategic counsel to executives on reputational issues.
Prioritize incoming media requests for TDS spokespeople and foster meaningful and lasting relationships with key journalists who cover the capital markets and financial industry.
Identify and use the most appropriate storytelling tools to produce and deliver compelling content to external audiences, leveraging traditional, online and social channels across audiences and geographies.
Collaborate with teams across TD Securities, as well as key stakeholders and control partners.
Demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to partner effectively across the organization and with colleagues within CAPA.
Required skills and experience for the job:
A minimum of 7-12 years of experience in corporate or agency communications environment.
Strong proactive and reactive media relations, issues management skills and demonstrated critical thinking and good judgement when dealing with sensitive matters.
A seasoned professional communicator with exceptional writing and editing skills.
Experience working in media relations for Securities, Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management.
Track record of providing communications counsel to business partners and senior executives.
Ability to understand complex subject matter and distill it into communications that are simple and easy to understand.
Highly detail oriented and an ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
Experience working in or with a high-energy, complex, matrix style organization or in a regulated environment.
