Key responsibilities:
- Provides strong leadership and problem solving to enable medical device innovation.
- Works cross-functionally to develop capable process and complex technologies on new products and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production
- As a key member of the New Product Development team, applies technical knowledge to innovate, design & develop processes, and advance emerging technology.
- Collaborates & partners with R&D to develop product concepts, influence design specifications and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
- Partners with Operations to improve the reliability and robustness of commercial processes
- Works cross functionally to lead, own, develop, & deliver capable and robust processes and equipment to operations.
- Develops experimental strategy and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
- Develop, write, & review process validation strategy and related deliverables to meet quality system requirements. (e.g., Experiment tech reports, GR&R, TMV, IQ, FMEA’s, etc.)
- Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in similar engineering position
- Demonstrated engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with laser and/or welding processes
- Demonstrated understanding and usage of statistics to drive improvements.
- Demonstrated understanding of problem solving and root cause investigations.
- Experience with Process Verification and Validation.
- Medical device or other regulated industry experience.
- Excels in a collaborative, cross-site environment.
- Expertise in Operations or New Product Development.
- Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technical environment.
- Knowledge of CAD software (<25% of role).
- Open to travel of up to 10% of their time.
