As part of the Capital One Software team, you will:

  • Lead product management for our next-generation data security platform, with a focus on building foundational capabilities for secure data transformation, protection, and privacy in cloud-native environments.

  • Drive innovation in applied cryptography, leading development of scalable, production-grade solutions that incorporate modern algorithms and are built to evolve alongside post-quantum cryptographic standards.

  • Own the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for tokenization and encryption services, anticipating emerging threats and aligning capabilities to the future of secure compute, zero trust architectures, and privacy-preserving technologies.

  • Define and prioritize core product features, working closely with engineering, cryptographers, and researchers to ensure the highest standards of security, performance, and compliance (e.g., NIST, FIPS, ISO/IEC).

  • Serve as a hands-on thought leader, driving internal and external conversations about the future of data security, cryptographic agility, secure multi-party computation, and other emerging trends in cybersecurity.

  • Attend external customer meetings (sales, onboarding, customer success) as a deep technical subject matter expert to articulate the vision, gather feedback, and validate market needs in highly regulated industries.

  • Partner with teams in engineering, design, sales, customer success, legal, and risk to drive adoption, influence industry standards, and deliver measurable business impact.

  • Manage key vendor and partner relationships to ensure alignment with the broader security ecosystem and accelerate product development and integration where needed.

  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product managers focused on security innovation and technical depth, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and hands-on experimentation.

  • Champion Capital One Software’s position as a leader in enterprise data security through white papers, conference talks, and engagement with industry working groups.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 9 years of experience in digital product management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in applied cryptography or security protocols

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • 7+ years of experience managing high-performing product management teams

  • 5+ years of experience managing products for a B2B SaaS company supporting cloud data management and security use cases

  • Demonstrated ability to bring security products from concept to production, especially those requiring low-latency, high-throughput cryptographic operations at enterprise scale

  • Deep familiarity with cryptographic standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS 140-3, ISO/IEC 27001)

  • Experience with quantum-safe algorithms, homomorphic encryption, or privacy-preserving technologies (e.g., differential privacy, secure enclaves, MPC)

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
