Job Description
The Strategy Assistant Vice President (AVP) typically has 5-8 years of experience in Consulting or Financial Services; often coming from internal or external undergraduate analyst programs, or from external management consultancies.
Responsibilities:
- Gain a deep understanding of Citi’s global businesses and internal functions through exposure to a variety of topics in a fast-paced environment with challenging, multi-faceted assignments.
- Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory developments, emerging trends, and their implications for the industry.
- Coordinate the conduct of key risk routines including the risk assessment of plan, review of business performance indicators, and risk appetite limits.
- Ensure appropriate governance controls are in place to support the strategic risk book of work.
- Perform analysis of financial institutions’ quarterly earnings and identify trends.
- Conduct in-depth research and perform deep dives on specific businesses to evaluate potential strategic weaknesses. .
- Develop working relationships with executives in business units, support functions and senior leadership.
- Structure and develop presentations for senior management and Citigroup Board of Directors, framing issues and synthesizing key findings of team analyses and recommendations.
- Improve problem solving, modeling, communications, and leadership skills in an environment of active mentorship and coaching.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years experience.
- History of academic and professional excellence and achievement.
- High degree of flexibility and productivity; initiative and creativity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Highly motivated and self-driven, ability to multi-task productively and result orientation.
- Has the ability to independently own work and operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Excellent problem solving and quantitative analytical skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to synthesize large data sets and convey a clear story supported by findings.
- Knowledge ofoperational/financialmodeling (forecasting, valuation) and ability to analyze financial statements.
- Bachelor’s/Universitydegree or equivalent experience
