The Impact You’ll Have
Uber’s Security Manager will be accountable for executing the Global Security strategy and programs across all Uber businesses within their respective area of operations (AOR).
- Coordinate security operations for all locations and staff in cities in ANZ, North and South East Asia.
- Coordinate response and incident management to address threats towards Uber’s people, places, and operations
- Educate key stakeholders on security principles and implementation
- Implement the physical security strategy in your region in alignment with business goals
- Implement processes and metrics - use data to make decisions
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication across all regional business operations
- Develop positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies as well as private sector peers
- Develop security awareness and education programs and materials
- Management, selection, and oversight of security vendors
Specific responsibilities and accountabilities(not all-inclusive, performed within delegated authority):
- Be the subject matter expert on macro-level security issues and trends taking place across the respective AOR
- React promptly to any urgent security event/incident/crisis that takes place in the AOR, manage, and lead the effort and response until successful resolution
- Lead a key role as part of Global Security, collaborate to develop enterprise-wide policies/ programs, and create internal operating procedures
Provide leadership of the regional security team, consisting of FTE and/or EXT staff, and ensure the effective management of all security activity and resources to support programs and operations in the respective AOR
Provide quarterly operational reviews to Global Security Leadership
- Contribute to managing the regional security budget
- Create a yearly regional security strategy plan, based on Global Security strategy
- Work in close collaboration with internal Trust & Security, Ethics & Compliance and Political Law counterparts to align security activities with wider (global) programs
- Identify and manage security (guarding) vendors, to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency of services in alignment with Global Security standards
- Oversee and prepare accurate and timely reporting that enables informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of security activities, providing technical analysis, data and metrics, interpretation, and information as required to support the assessment of activity impact
