As a General Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving world class safety culture into daily operations
  • Lead cross functional teams and programs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive sustainable improvements in factory cost through application of Lean Six Sigma, entitlement thinking, yield improvement, and plant productivity.
  • Track key metrics in the manufacturing process and communicate to employees and management.
  • Assure compliance with corporate and governmental safety, health and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Accountable to deliver improved results in EHS, Quality, Supply Chain Performance, Cost, and Employee Relations
  • Live 3M values through all interactions with the plant population and the community.

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (
at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment in a public, government or military environment
  • Seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a public, government or military environment
  • Current Driver license

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • 5 years of supervisory experiencein a manufacturing environment
  • B.S. degree in engineering/business or related field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in quarry or mining operation.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership ability.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Skills include ability to develop people and build a culture of trust and cooperation.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
