About this role:
will manage the engineering team responsible for building, maintaining and supporting the IBM MQ Enterprise messaging platform in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop Infrastructure Engineers in roles with low to moderate complexity and risk
- Ensure the Information Technology infrastructure is always functioning as effectively as possible
- Evaluate new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more effective
- Define software and hardware standards
- Identify and recommend opportunities for internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
- Manage the design, installation, and maintenance of infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with team members and third party vendor
- Review high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
- Resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding infrastructure to meet business objectives
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures
- Supervise and lead team in the implementation of technologies and platforms
- Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Infrastructure Engineering
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of Leadership experience
