The NAM Payroll Issue Management Sr Analyst is a seasoned payroll subject matter expert driving the Risk & Controls agenda, implementing, and monitoring control framework, supporting audits making sure the supported Infrastructure is compliant with Citi policies and relevant legislations and contribute to Effective Management Control Assessment (MCA).
Requires in-depth understanding of how different payroll teams collectively integrate as well as coordinate and contribute to the overall business objectives. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to create a culture of control supported by a proactive risk management framework based on ethical standards and forward-looking analytics that protects Citi & their Clients, contributing to measurable competitive advantage. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
- NAM Payroll Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) Program management to help the team to evaluate controls; sanitize, collate and validate Cluster results; identify weaknesses; recommend procedure / process improvements; document results in Citi systems
- Coordination and participation in the quarterly MCA testing of centralized key controls, provide risk & control oversight and inputs, in support of the NAM Payroll MCA Program
- Document test results in an accurate, clear, and concise manner to enable detailed risk analysis and Senior Management Reporting
- Representing payroll team by effectively communicating with auditors during internal control reviews, internal / external audits and local regulatory reviews; ensuring quality and timely provision of deliverables; interfacing with audit
- Identification, wording, monitoring and reporting of control issues including Data Quality, Incident Reports (IR) and corrective action plans (CAP) for detected weaknesses
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of key deliverables by leading Issue/Corrective Action Plans (CAP)/Milestone processes and updates in iCAPS
- NAM Payroll Records Management Officer
- Risk & Control guidance and assistance to NAM Payroll team during the resolution process of CAPs
- Coordinate and report any information necessary for Senior Management reporting, e.g. weekly control updates, control dashboard, global MOR, etc. Ensuring materials are submitted on time and in line with requirements
- Support consolidation and reporting of monthly Operational Loss data
- Coordination and support of Employment Tax Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR) updates
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years Risk Management experience in payroll financial services, control compliance or legal disciplines
- In-depth understanding and knowledge of Internal Control, Audit and Operational Risk requirements
- Advanced Analytical skills using Excel
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Experience with workflow systems as well as Sharepoint, ServiceNow, Tableau, DocuSign, Robotics, AI
- Knowledge of Payroll Operations (preferable not necessary)
- Bachelor’s/Universitydegree or equivalent experience
