About the role:

The Senior

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop relationships with patient access stakeholders, including office management, institution administrators, billing and coding staff, nurses, and other relevant individuals, to deliver information that facilitates patient access to and appropriate reimbursement for endobariatric procedures using Boston Scientific technologies.
  • Navigate access and reimbursement landscape at a regional, customer and patient level to optimize appropriate access to Boston Scientific technologies
  • Develop and execute local market-based initiatives that will educate access stakeholders within key accounts on the value proposition for Boston Scientific technologies and process of Boston Scientific Patient Access Support Program
  • Reactively and appropriately respond to account level patient case issues.
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to implement local level access strategies
  • Proactively educate sales team on key reimbursement updates as well as provide guidance on how to appropriately address account reimbursement concerns
  • Inform the HEMA strategy by communicating payer intelligence gained from accounts with key stakeholders
  • Lead account training with key stakeholders on the use of Boston Scientific’s Patient Access Support Program
  • Analyze access/reimbursement issues and opportunities
  • Serve as a content expert on the reimbursement process: coverage, coding, and payment
  • Communicate and distribute coding, prior authorization and appeals materials to customers
  • Interact with and support revenue cycle personnel at provider customer sites; provide strategic field support to obtain prior authorizations and resolve denials
  • Be responsible for understanding and upholding Boston Scientific Legal and Compliance guidance at a customer and field leadership level in terms of access, cost, pricing and reimbursement related issues
  • Help define and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of reimbursement initiatives and patient access programs.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in reimbursement or account-based reimbursement management roles within the medical device industry.
  • Solid understanding of the evolving reimbursement landscape and practice management environments.
  • Familiarity with payer policies and HIPAA compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to engage with decision-makers at facilities, practices, and payers.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, including professional correspondence and presentations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Strong account management and relationship development skills with a focus on account penetration.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Process-driven with flexibility to meet diverse customer demands and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Coding expertise for healthcare; coding certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health policy, health economics, healthcare administration, health services research, or similar discipline
  • Sales training, sales management or prior sales experience
  • Effectively present financial models in order to demonstrate to customers how Boston Scientific Endobariatrics products will economically impact their facility or healthcare system.
  • Ability to train sales team members both individually and in group settings in the use of economic tools such as calculators, presentations, and messaging in a compliant manner.
  • Ability to illicit and interpret customers’ goals, needs, and priorities and creatively address them with Boston Scientific products and programs.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness and sense of urgency when pursuing goals and completing tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and continuously adapt in a rapidly changing atmosphere.
  • Experience working as part of both functional and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong foundation in healthcare policy, reimbursement, and/or market access, particularly for gastroenterology devices.
