You will see yourself working on a Mega project that’s never been developed before and part of a growing business.
Responsibilities not limited to;
- Provide HSSE leadership to the Owner’s team and contractor personnel.
- Liaise with EPC Contractors personnel to ensure correct procedures and standards are used.
- Review of construction Method Statements and Risk Assessments, designs for temporary works and similar.
- Support to the head office design review process as required or requested.
- Lead and direct a local electrical inspector, mentoring and training.
- Responsible for issuing and following up of any NCRs.
- Lead the monitoring of electrical erection and construction of the following:
- Erection of 230kV switchyard extension
- Erection of generator, step up transformer, IPBs
- Erection of MV and LV switchgear
- Installation and tie-ins to existing electrical systems at the existing power station
- Installation and termination of cabling
- Electrical installations and testing for balance of plant systems
- Monitoring system completion, and system turn-over to commissioning
- Develop and maintain a punch list of open items through construction. Carry out surveillance and inspection of the electrical construction process at all stages, undertake walk downs of all systems and equipment at appropriate time and manage punch lists of issues and incomplete items for resolution by the EPC Contractor at appropriate time.
- Maintains communication with Client’s Operation, Maintenance and HSE teams.
- Control on a day-to-day basis potential technical, commercial, and contractual issues.
- Report to Jacobs Project/Site Manager on power plant progress, costs, schedule, safety, quality.
- Identify, communicate, and manage risk.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering with a Chartered status is preferred.
- About 10 years of experience as an Electrical engineer across construction of power plants projects, is ideal.
- Experience working in the Middle East especially Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience working for a Consultant on an Owners Engineer project will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong safety culture – ability to intervene and correct unsafe situations.
- All team members will be expected to have a strong commitment on project Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE implementation.
