Quantitative Economics and Statistics (QUEST) Senior Manager – State and Local Policy and Economics
The position we are looking to fill requires a background in economics and quantitative modeling skills, especially with regard to macroeconomic modeling/forecasting and issues that arise in a developing economy setting, plus excellent oral and written communication skills. The Senior Manager will be part of a broader team and will oversee Senior Analyst, Staff, and Intern work while developing analyses and deliverables for clients that more senior team members will review.
Tasks that the Senior Manager will assist with include:
- Providing quantitative analyses of state and local tax policy issues
- Review and providing input on macroeconomic modeling/forecasts
- Developing tools to evaluate cost/revenue implications of proposed tax policies
- Conducting tax analysis studies for specific industries
- Forecasting tax revenue for a state or local government
- Programming in Stata, Python, R, and SAS, and building models in Excel
- Developing client reports and presentations
- Assisting with proposals and pitches for new projects
To qualify for the role, you must have
- An advanced degree (PhD) in economics, public policy, data analytics, or relevant field
- At least 7 years of experience performing similar tasks as the position requires
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and oral
- Computer skills, including experience with statistical programming software and database management

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $158,600 to $362,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $190,300 to $411,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
