What you'll do...
We're on the hunt for a super talented Director of Design Strategy and Innovation. You'll be the captain of a team of design thinkers, leading the charge in everything from design thinking sessions to creating playbooks for design thinking methods. You'll also be the driving force behind our Design Ops practice and the formation of our Service Design practice. Plus, you'll get to work with our Product Ops and Engineering teams, grow and mentor your team, and be a part of the Design Leadership community in Walmart International. Sounds exciting, right?
What you need to bring to the table:
- A proven track record of leading design thinking groups in big organizations. We're talking real impact here.
- A deep understanding of the Design Ops function and the ability to drive it forward.
- 10-12+ years of experience leading user experience initiatives. You've been around the block a few times.
- Experience building digital experiences across multiple markets at scale. The more, the merrier!
- Experience leading or delivering in a Service Design capacity for a complex organization. It's a tough job, but we know you can handle it.
Bonus points if you have:
- The ability to rise above group think and see beyond the here and now. We love a forward-thinker!
- Comprehensive knowledge of design thinking and gamification methods/approaches. The more tools in your toolbox, the better.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 6 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Option 2: 8 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
