The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Manager will provide technical leadership and sound problem-solving methodologies in support of the manufacturing operations at the Prairie du Chien, WI site including improved results in EHS, quality, supply chain performance, cost and human relations. This position requires an individual with strong leadership skills, who is a good decision maker with the ability to collect facts and facilitate good business decisions along with being an inspiring and effective leader. Additionally, this person will need to ensure strong alignment of plant goals, metrics and targets with business/division targets.

As a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving sustainable improvements in factory performance (safety, quality, cost, etc.) through application of continuous improvement, entitlement thinking, PPU, yield improvement and productivity
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership
  • Representing the plant leadership team through driving initiatives across the manufacturing facility
  • Leading a customer focus through prompt complaint resolution and corrective action.
  • Helping design and implement lean supply chains that deliver improved business results.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • One (1) year of experience coaching, mentoring and developing others with the ability to influence higher levels of the organization

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a technical discipline (e.g. Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or relative discipline) from an accredited institution
  • Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Demonstrated strong leadership ability, history of leading high-performance teams and managing or influencing others
  • Experience with new product introductions, plant expansions, equipment start-up and qualifications and process/OEE optimization
  • Knowledge in Lean SixSigma/Lean/ContinuousImprovement manufacturing methodologies
