Set the strategy and vision for a large team of logistics professionals (salaried and hourly employees), inspiring them to exceed goals and unlock new opportunities to develop them professionally
Represent logistics in leadership and executive discussions around the supply chain of service parts for middle mile and last mile deliveries to Tesla’s network of service centers and collision centers as well as external customers
Align efforts with the organization’s goals to increase customer service while reducing cost through efficient management of internal resources and external partners
Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders in Material Planning, Channel Planning, Strategy, Network Optimization, Warehousing, Parts Operations, Systems and Finance to drive changes that optimize efficiency of end-to-end supply chain processes
Identify key opportunities for systems development, creating a clear and strong roadmap for transportation systems with IT and prioritizing efforts effectively
Develop and implement robust processes and systems that streamline the transportation of specialized goods, including route optimization for multiple destinations at the lowest cost, including reverse logistics
Ensure full compliance with global regulations, including hazardous materials handling, export/import requirements, and industry-specific logistics standards
Collaborate closely with 3rd party logistics providers, internal teams, and Tesla warehouses to maintain a smooth flow of materials while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and optimal cost
What You’ll Bring
10 to 12 years of experience in logistics management, with a strong background in distribution, route optimization, fleet management and reverse logistics
6 to 8 years in a leadership role, and at least 3 years managing a team of managers and driving strategy for the organization
Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
Track record of success in managing end-to-end projects with high impact on efficiency metrics and cost reduction. Ability to influence others and understand top priorities of the organization and pivot accordingly
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy, while ensuring regulatory compliance
Deep knowledge of dangerous goods and DOT regulations as well as international trade best practices
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing compliance processes for hazardous materials and international shipments
