Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team is growing rapidly, and as a Senior in our Technical Accounting Advisory Group (TAAG) group, you will play a key role in that growth.The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements. As part of the TAAG team, you will provide technical support and guidance to our clients on complex accounting matters involving various transaction structures under US GAAP, IFRS, or other regulatory standards.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide advice on the application of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist clients with the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Analyze financial statements and related disclosures to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, SEC, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct research on technical accounting issues and prepare memos and whitepapers to support conclusions.
  • Collaborate with audit teams to address and resolve accounting issues identified during the audit process.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on technical accounting topics for clients and internally
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging accounting pronouncements and industry trends.
  • Support clients with mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, divestitures, and other business combinations by providing technical accounting support
  • Support project teams within FAAS and cross service line with technical accounting components of engagements involving tax, M&A, subledger implementation, SOX 404 implementation and remediation, financial statement remediation, and GAAP conversions
  • Liaise with clients' finance and accounting teams to provide recommendations for process improvements and best practices.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on technical accounting in a Big 4 or large regional firm or accounting policy department in the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and other financial regulations.
  • Proven ability to interpret and implement new accounting standards.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex accounting concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with accounting software and systems.

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $89,900 to $148,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $107,900 to $168,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
