You’ll ensures compliance with quality standards, industry codes, and owner design and engineering specifications during field construction. The objective of this is to ensure the contractor, subcontractor, supplier, and vendor quality performance in a field inspector role supporting the Quality Assurance Manager in managing and auditing the implementation of the contractor, subcontractor, supplier, and vendor quality control programs, and will act as the eyes and ears of the quality manager to ensure that the PQP is being followed and actions being taken where needed.
Responsibilities
- Inspection and testing: Follow procedure for implementing and controlling inspections and testing activities necessary to verify field conformance to design/construction and installation criteria required per approved contract documents.
- Nonconformance, preventive action, and corrective action: participate in the processes used to identify, analyze, control nonconformance, and implement corrective actions designed to prevent recurrence of such nonconformance.
- Develop familiarity with the project documents, submittals, and preconstruction requirements.
- Utilize the established excel spreadsheet to track items noted. Include drawing and specification references. This is an interactive document managed by the Quality PM.
- Follow workflows to resolve issues
- Attend contractor QA/QC Meetings, facilitate resolution of QA issues with the design team.
- Follow-up on Quality items that are open for a prolonged period of time with A/E or Contractor. Elevate issues as needed to Quality/CHOP PM.
- The quality assurance field inspector reviews on-site and off-site tests, inspections, and documentation including:
- 3rdparty testing and inspection. Monitor for quality and timeliness. Work with Quality Manager to follow up for transition to Quality Log
- Infection control observations reporting and resolution tracking.
- Witness tests for various MEP and equipment
- Review contractor and vendor QAQC manuals and procedures
- Assist in inspection planning to identify applicable attributes, material tests, reporting, and acceptance criteria.
- Be the “boots on the ground” conducting daily/hourly quality observation tours and reporting non-conforming work (NCR).
- Participate in pre-installation, weekly OAC and other project QA related meetings as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent education
- Minimum of ten (10) years of technical program management, project management, construction management, or related engineering experience
- Inspection experience including HVAC, MEP, and vertical construction methods
- Strong organization and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to travel as needed and navigate an active construction site
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to work independently
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Construction / Engineering: Understanding and interpreting construction schedules; familiarity with materials, standards, and specifications related to vertical buildings construction projects and facilities management; Upholding professional ethics and integrity; Effective application of industry standards, laws & regulations, and project requirement
