We are seeking highly motivated and capable technologists to join our Data as a Services team to work on the forefront of enabling TD's big data strategy with a special focus on ETL/data curation on on-cloud Azure Platform.

Data Engineer/BSA, you will:

• Design and develop ETL processes based on functional and non-functional requirements in python / pyspark within Azure platform.
• Recommend and execute improvements.
• Interact with business stakeholders, understand and document business needs.
• Translate business needs for extraction and consumption into system data and technical specifications.
• Understand and map data flow into all solution layers: data ingestion, curation, and consumption.
• Gather, analyze, document and maintain all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments in different kinds of data maps.
• Acknowledge and identify shared data patterns for optimized solution.
• Apply standards and best practices to ensure that the application’s data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible.
• Work with data owners to define and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications.
• Facilitate data analysis and investigations for business users and QA teams, assisting with complex issues and validating business cases during development and testingphases.
• Provide proactive oversight on business impact post-implementation, ensuring the data solution meets the intended business outcomes during the warrantyperiod.
• Coordinate business requirements with technical teams with an oversight of ensuring smooth integration of data into source code repositories and promoting effective source code managementpractices.
• Participate in business and technical design reviews, ensuring that data architectures meet both operational and businessobjectives.
• Ensure business metadata and data lineage are well-documented and integrated with enterprise metadata management tools, facilitating better businessunderstanding.
• Execute and provide support during testing cycles and post-production deployment, engage in peer code reviews.
• Apply automation and innovation on new and on-going data platforms that aligned to business strategies.
• Understand the full end to end development activities from design to go live for ETL development in Azure platform.
• Document component design for developers and for broader communication.
• Understand and adopt an Agile (SCRUM like) software development mindset
• Follow established processes/standards, business technology architecture for development, release management and deployment process.
• Design, develop and implement reporting platforms and complex ETL frameworks that meet business requirements.
• Provide data analysis and requirements within enterprise platform.
• Develop, maintain knowledge of data available from upstream sources and data within various platforms.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
• Azureexperience/certification.
• 3-5 years relevant experience.
• Working experience for the following:
• Azure platform and tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse
• Python, Pyspark, Spark
• Data Flow Processes
• SQL Development
• ETL
• Preference given to candidates who have experience working in Agile.
• ETL concepts and Cloud technology.
• Working knowledge of source code control tool such as GIT.
• Implementation experience in managing and working in multiple environments, release and change management and knowledge of firewall, network work protocols, file transfer – TIBCO.
• Hands on experience in BSA artifacts: Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Requirements Document (FRD), System Requirements Specification (SRS).
• Strong knowledge on data mapping, lineage, data validation etc.
• Data classification andAdvanced SQL knowledge.
