Your impact

In this role, you will bring your knowledge, experience, and ability to lead technical experts and apply innovative solutions in planning, design, construction, and operations to tackle transit and rail challenges. You'll initiate or escalate the correction of any conditions that may adversely affect the project's timely completion.

This position requires you to work from the client's office on a part-time basis; relocation or current residence in South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, or Miami-Dade) is preferred.

As a Senior Commuter Rail Project Manager, you will:

  • Take the role of Project Manager for the implementation of the Broward Commuter Rail project, planned to operate on the Florida East Coast (FEC) corridor, connecting to the Miami-Dade NE Corridor at Aventura. The BCR project is in the process of receiving FTA New Starts funding to enter Project Development. Key aspects of the project include determining the crossing at the New River (bridge or tunnel), close coordination with the FTA Region 4, and regional transportation partners (FDOT, SFRTA, DTPW, FEC, Broward MPO, and Brightline). You will need to be dynamic and able to make important strategic and implementation decisions, providing recommendations to the client to ensure the project's success.
  • Maintain close coordination and communication with project team members, the client, the Federal Transit Administration, and the Federal Railroad Administration. You will oversee the project through planning, design, and construction phases.
  • Communicate with and present to clients, project stakeholders, and the public.
  • Manage external clients and stakeholders, as well as internal staff, to complete work on time and within budget, including interfacing with teams working on related programs and projects.
  • Coordinate and/or oversee grant applications, preliminary and final design, procurement construction, and readiness activities with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee interdisciplinary teams and provide review and guidance during the development of deliverables.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and serve as a liaison between clients and other agencies when necessary.
  • Mentor and lead other transit staff while fostering an environment where innovation and differences are openly shared, embraced, and incorporated into the team's activities.
  • Assist with proposal development and participate in interviews and presentations.
  • Engage in the Jacobs growth process and collaborate with Sales teams.
  • Take an active role in US transit industry trade organizations, including presenting papers, publishing articles, and serving on select committees.
