As an Army Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Driving the use of 3M products and technologies by providing sound business development strategies to relevant 3M stakeholders by monitoring, analyzing and anticipating market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Developing and executing 3M's US Army engagement strategy, including all aspects of the US Army, key prime contractors, platform providers, and stakeholders.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the US Army, focusing on key HQ Commands such as Army Materiel Command (AMC), Futures Command (AFC) including Combat Capabilities Command (DEVCOM) and Program Executive Offices (PEOs).
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the US Army, associated organizations, consortiums and prime contractors.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure the successful integration of 3M's materials, technology, and capabilities into US Army systems and platforms. Including providing strategic direction and leadership to 3M’s cross functional teams in a highly matrixed, multi-disciplined environment
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of experience working with or engaging key US Army organizations in a private, public, government or military environment
- Ability to obtain and hold a DoD Security Clearance
- Experience advising on and specifying materials, technology and capabilities into US Army systems
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Prior military service in the US Army is highly desired but not required
- Proven leader with a track record of success in business development, sales and achieving business results
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce.com
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed, multi-disciplined environment
Work location:
- Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)- Washington DC, Huntsville, AL or Detroit, MI metro area
