The Sanctions Program Manager manages the execution and implementation of PayPal’s Sanctions and PEP Compliance Program. This role evaluates new and modified product initiatives for compliance with OFAC and other global sanctions regulatory requirements, oversees sanctions and PEP processes and procedures to determine if effective controls are in place to mitigate risk, and works closely with key stakeholders to address and resolve sanctions and PEP escalations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identify issues and recommend best practices for risk management within the organization.
  • Lead functional projects and programs that enhance risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate with teams to analyze business trends and their implications for risk management.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members in executing risk management initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

Responsibilities:
1. Maintain close relationships with GFC&CP investigations to understand process and procedures and provide guidance on executive escalations and complex investigations.
2. Proactively identify sanctions and PEP compliance risks and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to monitor open issues and help define and manage remediation activities.
3. Consult with the Product Advisory Team on any new or modified products and assess sanctions compliance risks and draft sanctions screening exemptions, as appropriate.
4. Assist in engagement with internal audit and regulators on sanctions and PEP issues.

Qualifications:

BS/BA degree, ACAMS, ICA Compliance or other relevant Financial Crime/Risk Management Certifications preferred.
5-7 years of experience in compliance or risk management at a large regulated financial institution or equivalent related experience. Knowledge of and expertise in OFAC regulations preferred.
Results-oriented, “roll up your sleeves” attitude, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with strong sense for prioritization
Strong verbal, written, presentation / other related communication and influencing skills
Consistent demonstration of company values in all interactions

The US national annual pay range for this role is $100,500 to $173,250
