You’ll get to work on cutting edge disruptive technologies and assist with building and implementing new technology solutions and products to address challenges faced by the banking industry.

Our Financial Risk Technology practice helps clients manage credit, market and liquidity risk across regions and regulatory regimes. We provide full lifecycle services to enable the implementation of best practice risk management processes and systems. We help clients respond to emerging risk and regulatory developments through implementing agile methodologies.

The Financial Risk Technology practice focus areas include:

  • Credit risk technology solutions - Technology solutions to complex credit risk, capital issues and regulatory mandates including but not limited to credit origination and approval, portfolio management, rating systems, Basel, CCAR Banking Book, IFRS 9, CECL, and SCCL.
  • Treasury risk technology solutions - Establishing a strategic treasury risk architecture and framework that supports changing regulatory requirements enables the implementation of Liquidity Risk (including Intra-day), Funds Transfer Pricing, and Collateral Management solutions.
  • Trading and market risk technology solutions - Streamlining trading technology environments and implementing flexible and reliable risk platforms including front office based market risk and VAR platform strategy, stress testing analytics, PnL decomposition and regulatory mandates including but not limited to FRTB and CCAR Trading Book.

Your key responsibilities

  • Interact with clients to gain in-depth understanding of our clients’ unique needs and goals, and focus on delivery of regulatory remediation, process and technology improvement, and provide insights to our clients through enabling technologies.
  • Work in a cross functional environment, with business and technology consultants through all phases of project life cycle
  • Deliver strategic enhancement of IT systems or operational processes supporting regulatory compliance within financial services firms.
  • Implement technology performance improvement solutions using deep subject matter knowledge to address specific business concerns across different risk areas
  • Research client inquiries and emerging issues relating to risk management, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies.
  • Motivate engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds by fostering an innovative and inclusive team-orientated work environment
  • Be a credible advisor to junior consultants within the organization as well as the clients as you build knowledge and experience.
  • Support the team in sales activities such as proposal artifacts, building of POVs/POCs and client demonstrations/presentations

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree (computer science, engineering, or related field) and approximately 2 years of related work experience in an Information Technology role in a financial services company OR
  • A Master’s degree (computer science, engineering, or related field) and minimum of 1 year of related work experience in a financial services company
  • Enterprise IT implementation experience leveraging Agile Waterfall methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in multiple phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements definition, controls implementation, and testing
  • Deep understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and experience in designing solutions to meet them.
  • Ability to innovate and adapt to a rapidly changing client landscape and develop/enhance EY services to meet new demands
  • Experience with packages/vendors used in risk management including but not limited to Blueprism, Pega, WorkFusion, Oracle, Axiom, SAS, IBM/Algorithmics, Sungard, Moody’s, QRM, MarkIt, Bloomberg,
  • Prior consulting experience with a Big 4 firm or large global bank is preferred
  • Understand leading practices and regulatory guidance in Treasury governance, processes, procedures and internal control environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Skillset

  • Enterprise IT implementation experience leveraging Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in one or more phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements definition, architecture design, configuration, and testing
  • Working knowledge of Data structures and Algorithms as well as hands-on experience with OOP Programming languages (Java preferable)
  • Databases experience in MongoDB, DynamoDB
  • Multi-threading in Java (with frameworks such as Akka)
  • Big data technologies like Hadoop and PySpark
  • Distributed computing experience over a large compute grid
  • Queuing Technologies such as Apache Kafka or Crank up the AMPS etc.
  • Working knowledge of C++
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and ability to debug network performance issues
  • Familiarity with various caching technologies such as Crank up the AMPS, Redis etc.
  • Front end experience with React, Javascript
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Knowledge of design patterns, best practices and frameworks such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven and Layered architecture
  • Proficiency in using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, CircleCI
  • Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Skills in API design and management
  • Experience with middleware platforms
  • Skills in optimizing applications and infrastructure for scalability and performance, including load testing and tuning

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $74,500 to $123,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $89,400 to $139,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
