What you'll do...

As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Sam's Tech team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of back-end and platform engineers in building a suite of applications that provide identity, authentication, and authorization related solutions for Sam’s club.


What you'll do:

  • Develop services for Identity and security solutions for Sam's club.
  • Provide guidance and lead a team of engineers to build quality software solutions for our Associates and Members that reduce waste and gain efficiency.
  • Ensure Software Quality by keeping the engineers up to date on best practices, automated code testing, alerts, reporting, and taking a proactive approach to production running app support.
  • Develop and implement product development strategies using Agile development methodologies; collaborating between self-organizing, cross-functional teams for requirements and solutions; promoting adaptive planning and delivering for rapid and flexible response to change.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; removing obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability while supporting continuous learning.
  • Work closely with the Architect, Program manager, Product manager, and Scrum Champion to ensure engineering work is pointed and prioritized correctly.
  • Provide design, architecture, and programming guidance to the Engineering teams so that business goals are met keeping scalability, availability, maintainability in mind.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong senior level engineering leadership expertise in medium to large size organizations.
  • Prior back-end development experience in Java/Python for customer facing applications at scale.
  • Experience of building solutions in identity, authentication, and authorization, domains.
  • Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams.
  • Leading large scale systems in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc
  • Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 14+ years of industry experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience of leading engineering teams.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Minimum Qualifications...
