The Sr Tax Manager of Global Information Reporting is a subject matter expert who will manage and ensure the overall implementation of holistic compliance with global tax documentation and information reporting tax laws and processes (including FATCA, CRS, CARF and DAC8). The Sr Manager will manage global corporate compliance functions and ensure compliant reporting procedures with local legislation.

Job Description:

The Sr Tax Manager will have one direct report and manage multiple global information reporting workstreams. They will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Provides advice on operational impact and implementation of global tax information reporting legislation and local tax authority guidance as it relates to information reporting. Monitors and determines the effectiveness of relevant systems and procedures through pro-active assurance monitoring.

  • Provide pro-active advice and support to relevant business and operational units to ensure they are aware of, understand, and are applying existing rules, new and amended tax legislation and tax authority guidance relating to tax documentation, information reporting and withholding tax (including FATCA, CRS, CARF and DAC8).

  • Ensure relevant business and operational units understand and implement, as appropriate, any necessary operational systems, procedure modifications, and additions for new product offerings.

  • Provide recommendations, as appropriate, for upgrades, modifications, mergers with other systems, development of new systems, and integrate new business units created internally or acquired.

  • Assist in the analysis, development, transfer, and implementation of tax documentation, information reporting and withholding tax rules; ensure rules are followed and applicable systems and procedures are compliant.

  • Propose, design and/or develop systems, standards, and operational procedures (manual and automated) to implement such rules.

  • Coordinate the filing information returns as appropriate. Determine the completeness of information return filings, assess training needs and implement changes, as necessary.

  • Support internal personnel with responses to tax authority notices, assessments, and requests for information.

  • Ensure discovered deficiencies of internal audit examinations are corrected in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA from an accredited institution and MST, MBA or JD preferred.

  • 10+ years of financial services compliance experience.

  • 5+ years experience with IRS rules, regulations, and guidance relating to all types of US and global information reporting and/or back-up withholding regimes. AML/KYC experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of financial services compliance and monitoring experience.

  • Detailed knowledge of processes used to fulfill IRS information reporting requirements and electronic filings, corrections, B-notices.

  • Proven experience using data to inform decision making.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Analytical and verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to work and communicate well with various levels of management.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $159,500 to $236,500
