What to Expect

You’ll work alongside accomplished, world-renowned engineers on perhaps the most exciting automotive programs in existence today.

What You’ll Do
  • Full product design responsibility (system ownership) – from concept through production launch and ramp
  • 3D design and GD&T drawings of complex parts and assemblies
  • Own basic testing & evaluation and/or support advanced testing and failure/root cause analysis
  • Optimize designs via analytical, numerical, and/or empirical assessments, (DFMEA, fault tree, decision matrices, etc.)
  • Collaborate with teams inside and outside Tesla (manufacturing, test, NPI, supply chain, etc.)
  • Support continuous product and process improvement and investigate industry standards (as well as our own) to continually raise the bar
  • Mentor less experienced engineers through the design process
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in materials and mechanics
  • Detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
  • Strong experience in CAD modeling (experience in CATIA V5/3DX is a plus but not required)
  • Prior experience in a relevant engineering field is valued, but the team has openings from entry level to expert
  • Don’t worry if you don’t have all of these skills mastered – as long as you are excited about solving the problem we will guide you through it
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a project from technical standpoint: from initial design to manufacturing
