Technical Product Development Engineer
As a(n) Technical Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Product Engineering lead and Technical Support: Lead maintains and improves existing Architectural Finishes product, specifically DI-NOC or Fasara or Dichroic or Dusted/Frosted film. In addition, provide expert-level technical support for the products, addressing complex customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving product-related problems.
- Product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Lead the collaboration with product development teams to enable the introduction of materials, including coating, film and adhesives and to ensure smooth transition of new products from development to market. Provide technical support during the launch phase, including validation, testing, and customer feedback integration.
- Collaboration: Work closely with CRL, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to address product issues and implement corrective actions.
- Leadership: Demonstrate leadership by proactively identifying challenges and taking action to resolve them. Additionally, find support members and continuously and technically strengthen that culture.
- Product Performance Analysis: Lead the analysis of product performance data, identify trends, and recommend strategic improvements to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering , Material Science or similar from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of product engineering or product development in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree or PhD in a science or engineering discipline, or technology management from an accredited institution
- Proficient in continual improvement problem solving methodologies
- Experience in film making, coating, extrusion, and web handling technologies
- Experience in leading and supporting global teams
- Ability to energize teams and promote teamwork
- Demonstrated project management, facilitation, communication, influencing, teaching and coaching skills
- Ability to find and implement creative solutions
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely. Strong communication with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers or suppliers.
