Support efforts to optimize distributed energy generation systems design, output, basis of design, physical site layout and site access
Support the creation and submission of interconnection requests with the local Utility for distributed energy projects and analyze study results
Follow customers specifications and internal specifications for project implementation
Select components and create bill of materials
Prepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals
Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings
Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation, and test procedures
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required
Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly
Work with microgrid concepts, including islanding operation, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management within a microgrid system
Provide technical support to the proposals team
This position is incentive plan eligible.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
5+ years of experience in power distribution controls applications
Understanding of Microgrid applications
Knowledge of power monitoring and control systems and associated protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850)
Knowledge of DER’s (PV, BESS, and Generators)

Understanding of microgrid control systems and automation technologies, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, energy management systems (EMS), Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), HMIs, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
Knowledge of power electronics and their application in renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters, converters, and other power electronic devices to interface and control DER’s
Experience with protection & control design concepts, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring, etc.
