Create, submit, and coordinate interconnection requests with the local Utility for distributed energy projects and analyze study results
Follow customers specifications and internal specifications for project implementation
Select components and create bill of materials
Prepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals
Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings
Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation, and test procedures
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required
Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly
Provide technical support to the proposals team
This position is incentive plan eligible.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
Minimum of 7 years of experience in power distribution control applications
Knowledge of microgrid operations
Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DERs)
Professional Engineering license
Knowledge of power monitoring and control systems and associated protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850)
Experience with generator/multi-source paralleling controls
Experience with multi-function protection relays-based controls
Understanding of microgrid concepts, including islanding operation, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management within a microgrid system
Knowledge of microgrid control systems and automation technologies, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, energy management systems (EMS), Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), HMIs, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
Knowledge of power electronics and their application in renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters, converters, and other power electronic devices to interface and control DER’s
