As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Drive performance improvements (OEE), yield and productivity improvements. Identifying, initiating and implementing process improvements using continuous improvement principles.
- Leads and participates in multiple continuous improvement projects focused on product and quality system improvements
- Utilizes technical skills to compile and review information to evaluate project scope, equipment specifications and other project requirements
- Effectively troubleshoot defects and variation, performing root cause analysis and apply problem solving skills. Support production operations to meet daily, weekly, monthly targets.
- Utilizes project management skills to organize and execute projects
- Provide engineering leadership to the Hartford City plant – Establishes a network of resources and contacts to meet business goals and customer needs
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Two (2) years of combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of data analysis using statistical software
- Three (3) years working with cross-functional teams in an industrial setting
- Experience with rotary converting, automation technology and processes, web handling and slitting processes.
- Demonstrated strength inengineering/technicalskills
- Self-starter/self-directedthat leads with high energy and passion
- Strong problem-solving skills working in a high mix environment
- Lean Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
