As an Operational Technology/SCADA Engineer in the municipal market, you will play an important part of our SCADA team as you complete a variety of technical tasks in the design, commissioning, and operation of SCADA systems for water/wastewater treatment facilities supporting our clients in both our local offices and client sites. You will work alongside project teams and under the direction of an I&C/SCADA Group Leader to perform the following tasks:
- Provide engineering and programming support for water, wastewater, municipal, and industrial clients in our local office and at client sites.
- Utilize Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software, Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems, Relational Databases, Network/Networking Technology, and Cybersecurity practices to effectively design, implement, and consult on SCADA systems.
- Utilize familiarity with IT applications including event logging, domain controllers, network behavior anomaly detection systems, virtualized, hyper-converged and traditional servers, group policy, patching schedules, and anti-virus software to effectively configure, modify, and consult on OT systems.
- Conduct site visits and testing and make recommendations for SCADA and OT systems improvements and designs.
- Develop design reports, specifications, plans, documentation for application software, and associated client deliverables for SCADA systems.
- Develop new and modify existing application programming in HMIs (human machine interfaces), virtualized OT environments, databases, networks and associated components.
- Interact with clients to gain an understanding of their systems.
- Participate in consulting, design, construction, planning, commissioning/start-up, training, and close-out phase activities.
- Work with contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve issues during, construction and commissioning/start-up.
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple deadlines.
- Drive ownership of health & safety in all aspects of project execution, office and personal environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with designing and securing OT/IT hardware, software, applications, and systems.
- Experience with deploying and maintaining OT/IT hardware, software, applications, and systems: Dell servers/workstations, Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft SQL, VMWare, Fortinet, Cisco.
- Experience with SCADA software: Rockwell Software (Factory Talk View ME/SE, Components, Historian), Wonderware (InTouch, System Platform, Historian), etc.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in water or wastewater treatment SCADA systems
- Experience with industrial networking: EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP etc.
- Experience with Internet-of-Things (IoT) and/or Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT)
- Data science, Data modelling, Artificial Intelligence development, mathematical expertise
-Cybersecurity certification: CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
