Utilize and operate analytical instruments such as FTIR, SEM/EDS, XRF, TGA, GC/MS, X-ray/CT-Scan, C-SAM, etc. to drive failure analysis investigations
Apply fundamental materials knowledge of metallics, non-metallics, plastic composites, glasses, ceramics to support Failure Analysis investigations. Follow Process-Structure-Properties/Performance principle
Prepare reports and data interpretation of technical findings, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present findings to internal customers
Responsible for setting up novel sample preparation, advanced analytical method development, and sample analysis in support of Tesla engineering activities
Drive analytical equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, service, and evaluation/purchasing processes
Mentor junior staff members on operation, interpretation, maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical Instruments used in FA lab
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project timelines and goals
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
1-3yrs hands-on experience in a service or research lab or similar environment
Hands-on experience operating SEM/FIB, 2D X-Ray, CSAM, FTIR, and other similar analytical instruments
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and balance priorities across multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in a team environment
