As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work on state-of-the art implantable medical devices that change patients’ lives. As a key part of a growing team that provides electrical engineering knowledge within R&D and an interdisciplinary team, you will work on new projects from concept to commercialization and be responsible for solving engineering problems, designing components of the system, along with testing and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and analyzes analog and digital circuitry.
  • Creates and maintains design requirements, schematics, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, bill of material, written and verbal descriptions and layouts.
  • Performs risk management activities per company SOPs.
  • Actively participates in design reviews of his/her own designs and others’ designs.
  • Resolves problems in software-controlled analog and digital surface mount circuit boards; performs component level testing and troubleshooting.
  • Works as part of a project team, or on an individual basis to refine existing specifications, develops process improvements, validation testing and makes product yield enhancements and cost reductions.
  • Performs systems engineering and component engineering activities, including writing and meeting system and subsystem requirements.
  • Ensures product documentation is in accordance with Quality System requirements.
  • Assists designing, writing and performing test protocols, and produces test reports.
  • Leads or trains Assemblers and Technicians.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or more in Electrical Engineering or applicable discipline from and accredited school
  • 5+ years of work experience in electrical engineering
  • Demonstrable analog and digital circuit design and analysis skills.
  • Experience evaluating and selecting components, based on system and design specifications.
  • Must have experience using the following test equipment: digital volt meters (DVM), oscilloscopes, signal generators, hand tools, such as soldering irons, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
  • Competence using Electronics CAD software for schematic capture and for PCB layout review.
  • Professional, clear verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting is required.
  • Willingness to work onsite at our Irvine, CA location.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering experience with Class II or III medical devices is preferred, though equivalent experience in other regulated environments is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and FDA QSR.
  • Understanding of firmware development.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with systems engineering and requirements management.
  • Experience providing technical assistance to other functional departments such as Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality, Reliability and Manufacturing
  • Experience with Radiofrequency (RF) up into the low GHz range.

Maximum Salary: $ 164500

Compensation for
exempt rolesmay also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
