Responsibilities:

• Incumbents work with large and complex data sets (both internal and external data) to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies.

• Identifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business to business outcomes.

• Responsible for documenting data requirements, data collection / processing / cleaning, and exploratory data analysis; which may include utilizing statistical models / algorithms and data visualization techniques.

• Incumbents in this role may often be referred to as Data Scientists. Responsible for developing and maintaining models.

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience

• Extensive Experience in Consumer Banking

  oDeep understanding of consumer banking products such as credit cards, retail banking, and loans.

  oExpertise in various banking functions including Marketing, Risk Management, Operations, Fraud, AML/KYC.

  oAbility to develop business cases to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and customer experience improvements.

  oIn-depth knowledge of banking regulations, guidelines, and governance (e.g., Reg B, ECOA, SR 11-7) and experience handling audits.

  oExperience with Model Risk Management practices.

• Advanced Data Science and Technical Skills

  oExpertise in data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis, with a strong ability to solve complex analytical problems.

  oExperience in A/B testing and experimental design to support model development and business decisions.

  oDeep knowledge of algorithmic techniques, including Clustering, Decision Trees, Collaborative Filtering, Linear and Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and Neural Networks.

  oStrong expertise in Feature Engineering.

  oProficiency in developing and deploying Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI models.

  oExperience with Cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, Azure, Snowflake).

  oSolid understanding of Big Data architecture (e.g., Hadoop) and version control software (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket).

  oProficient in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and PySpark.

  oAdvanced understanding of data collection, exploration, visualization, and statistical analysis.

  oExperience in exploring and experimenting with generative models (e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini, Vertex Llama) for business applications.

  oStrong understanding of model evaluation metrics, best practices, and the ability to apply them to ensure high model performance.

  oAbility to contribute to technical documentation and ensure compliance with Legal, Fair Lending, and regulatory requirements.

  oUnderstanding of linear optimization techniques for solving business problems.

• Soft Skills & Leadership

  oProficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to develop analytic presentations and communicate insights effectively.

  oExceptional ability to build partnerships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  oAgile mindset with a focus on rapid experimentation and iterative development of new models and solutions.

  oStrong project management and time management skills, ensuring timely and successful project completion.

  oExcellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.

  oExpertise in creating compelling presentations and decks, tailored to various audiences including executive leadership

Education:

• Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred in a quantitative analysis field (e.g., math, physics, computer science, statistics, engineering and economics)
