The main phases of the project include;
· Preliminary Design,
· Detail design,
· Procurement
· Construction contract administration
· Commissioning and Substantial Completion Under the direction of the Submittals Manager, the position is responsible for the coordination of project submittals.
Job Specifications & Scope of Responsibility:
- Support Document Controller in the development and validation f the processes, tools, and systems needed for submittals and correspondence sent and received from Operators, maintainers, and 3rd parties required during the O&M phase
- Be part of, and have an acting role, as submittal/correspondence coordinator during all testing phases (from HMKE test through the bedding-in period and day 1)
- Perform the duties of the document/correspondence coordinator during the first 6 months after O&M phase
- Responsible for the overall management and coordination of all responses and the internal coordination and engagement of various groups to analyze, review, and draft correspondence/and submittal responses through Unifier.
- Analyzing and mitigating risks related to delayed submittals
- Make changes and improvements to the process including the lessons learned found during the O&M phase
- Training to the new Submittal coordinator when the position is filled.
· BS or MS graduate of an engineering discipline or similar applicable technical discipline.
· Preferably 5+ years’ experience working within transit industry
· Knowledge of Project delivery using AFP, P3, or design/build methodology Capabilities is an asset
· Experience working in capital projects environment or as part of a Project Management Team is an asset
· Familiarity with engineering design management and review is an asset
· Knowledge of transit infrastructure construction an asset
· Understanding and practical application of contract administration and document management software, CM14 and Aconex are desired
· Understanding of project management principles is an asset
· Proficient with Microsoft Suite with a strong emphasis on Excel, and PowerPoint. Other CAD related software’s such as Bentley, Autodesk (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit) are considered an asset.
. Visualization software such as Sketch-Up also considered an asset.
