Responsibilities:
Regional Representation of Global Hardware Team: Represent global colleagues in United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia to implement global hardware management best practices in the North America region. In turn, act as liaison for NA regional concerns when communicating with global IT leaders.
Facilities Management: Partner with Facilities Management for the design, provisioning, installation, and maintenance of all data center IT hardware, power connections and infrastructure. Provide input to critical systems team via weekly updates and forecasts on installation activity as well as strategic technology directions.
Vendor Management: Responsible for vendor talent reviews, and regular senior level meetings. Manage vendor Statements of Work (SOW’s) and global services contracts. Coordinate and communicate of all vendor activities and changes with vendors and interested parties at Citi.
Hardware Microcode Management: Evaluate and deploy optimal hardware microcode for mainframe CPUs, FICON directors, DASD, tape subsystems.
Provide on-site leadership and hardware subject matter expertise for all data center migration projects.
Provide vendor management support of IBM, Broadcom and EMC Hardware Components.
Manage all mainframe (IBM System z) HMC/HMA and FICON director infrastructure. Administer device access and LDAP control.
Provide hardware subject matter expertise for all new mainframe technology evaluations (IBM Early Ship Program / ESP).
Manage and maintain hardware configuration documentation, installation plans, and installation workflows.
SAN and Distributed Systems: Provide hardware and vendor management support of SAN switch and storage hardware installations. Assist with SAN infrastructure design and then interface between technical storage teams and data centre site support during implementation.
Mainframe (System z) Systems: Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and availability of all mainframe hardware. Responsible for day-to-day problem management and resolution as well as scheduled change activities. Manage technical working relationships between all internal and external global support groups (including command centres, technical teams, and vendors) to accomplish these responsibilities.
Participate in 24x7 global hardware support hotline by assuming regular shifts in on-call rotation.
Ensure a satisfactory Audit rating for all Enterprise Hardware and Vendor Management processes. Document all processes via Global Process Manuals (GPMs) stored on SharePoint database.
Qualifications:
6-10 years experience in a related technology role and subject matter expert in overall field.
Basic understanding of Mainframe I/O channels connectivity.
Basic understanding of communication networks.
Familiarity with ServiceNow a plus.
Bachelor’s/Universitydegree or equivalent experience.
