What You’ll Do
  • Lead EHS operations that support cell & active materials. Develop, mentor, coach EHS team members based on data driven performance assessments and stakeholder feedback. Assist with the development and implementation of EHS programs and management systems
  • Help to establish, track, communicate and develop plans toachieve EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets and Objectives & Key Results (OKR)
  • Direct the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs necessary to continuously improve and foster a positive EHS culture
  • Develop and maintain working partnerships with business stakeholders to customize and implement solutions that support EHS riskreduction for Tesla employees, supporting personnel, and environmental protection
  • Work independently to understand the business and manage tasks that support risk reduction and legal compliance without specific direction
  • Proactively collaborate with EHS global and regional functional leadership to ensure the participation in and consistent implementation of EHS initiatives
  • Prepare and present EHS performance updates, incident reports, compliance program documents, assessment reports, training course materials, budget/funding requests, and statistics that are technically accurate and complete
What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years of experience managing EHS risk, compliance, and management systems for manufacturing operations. 2+ years as a people leader that has directly managed EHS staff. 2+ years of experience practicing EHS in heavy chemical manufacturing, battery manufacturing, semi-conductor manufacturing or mineral and lithium metal refining strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering or Safety-related discipline. Master’s degree and Certifications – CSP, CIH, CHMM preferred
  • Practical, hands-on experience with the following: Risk assessment, equipment and process safety, machine guarding, control of hazardous energy, industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, environmental compliance, emergency action planning, hazardous materials management, and incident investigation and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience, advanced knowledge and understanding of EHS requirements and regulations at federal and state levels (EPA, OSHA, TCEQ, DOT, etc.) as well as codes and consensus standards (NFPA,ASTM/ANSI, IFC, etc.). Working knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
  • Ability to quickly adapt, adjust schedules when needed, take initiative, prioritize and work effectively within a fast-paced innovative environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence and communicate with associates and all levels of management
  • Proficiency with standard business software, including word processing, presentation software, EHS management software, and spreadsheets
  • Valid driver's license required and able to operate assigned fleet. The position will require limited travel up to 20%
