As a Research Assistant in Pharmaceutical Development you will play a key role in supporting the R&D organization.
A day at work can include:
- Perform preparation and formulation processes by handling raw materials, mixing ingredients, dispensing and packing new drug product candidates, incl. operating instruments and equipment.
- Perform a variety of routine sample preparation and analysis procedures to characterize pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations and/or biological matrices for stability and analytical testing.
- Sorting and storing of laboratory samples, incl. labeling and transfer of samples for testing within departments.
- Maintain laboratory notebook and complete all laboratory documentation in clear and accurate language and according to Good Documentation Practice.
- Inventory laboratory supplies.
- Logistic functions such as shipments and receipt of samples between sites.
- Operate equipment related to the preparation and formulation processes and associated SOP’s.
- Qualify and maintain instrumentation in the laboratory.
- Daily routine tasks and other necessary support to the research scientists.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy (with specialization in Pharmaceutics or Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or other basic science.
- Recent Masters degree graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Preferable with 2 years or more work experience in a lab environment.
- In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered enough for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
- Strong organizational skills, able to keep work area in order and to improve organizational systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team.
- Norwegian and English fluent verbal and written.
Desired Characteristics/Skills
- Professional experience from Pharmaceutical Industry.
- Familiar with standard laboratory techniques, proficiency in handling and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Solid understanding of safety and quality standards in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to follow laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Experience in organizing and managing supplies.
