Plan, develop, and execute strategies to maximize energy savings at Tesla facilities while minimizing associated CapEx and OpEx
Create and maintain relationships with utility officials to expedite interconnection agreements and initiate customized incentives leveraging Tesla’s large scale utility contracts and resources
Develop tools that enable end-users to make informed operational decisions by clearly showing how their changes impact energy consumption and costs
Conduct power flow and electricity consumption studies and run energy simulations focused on cost savings and load shifting
Develop and implement tools and frameworks to guide facility location decisions, focusing on Tesla's best interests by assessing OpEx related to energy costs
Lead front-end and back-end load-shifting and scheduling systems, followed by economic feasibility studies and electrical planning
Evaluate and enhance model performance, with a focus on increasing facility energy efficiency and adaptability to facilities upgrades and electricity market changes with minimal human intervention
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users to implement energy optimization models and new load schedules, ensuring they meet high performance and reliability standards
Present energy efficiency concepts and progress at project milestones to stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline with a focus on energy or equivalent experience
Knowledge of electrical utility markets and operations
Experienced with low voltage power distribution systems including switchgears, substations, panelboards, circuit breakers and interconnecting wires
Experienced with load studies and energy simulations
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system-level problems
Experience working with large datasets and optimizing large models, with a strong understanding of infrastructure challenges and limitations
Capability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
High motivation to work on “first-of-its-kind” projects with resilience and tenacity
