The Service Technician will provide on-site customer service & telephone assistance for Honeywell Enraf & third party supplied equipment including commissioning of new equipment, overhaul (PM) and repair of old equipment
Shop work requires logging in of customer’s equipment, troubleshooting and repairing or exchanging
Keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers
Most work on-site will be conducted in marketing terminals, chemical plants, and refineries
As proficiency is demonstrated, the employee shall assist in the training of Customers both in-house and at customer sites. This training requires skills in speaking before audiences of 10-20 persons or more
After Hours Support
Reporting sales opportunities to Regional Sales Managers
Total travel time will vary from 10% to 80% of the time depending on sales activity
The hours for this position are normally 8:00AM to 5:00PM Central Time. During travel, hours outside of this time may be required. The employee will be compensated for the extra work
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Being able to travel to customer locations in the immediate area via the applicants own vehicle. For this reason, the applicant must have access to a reliable vehicle. All personal vehicle expense while on company business shall be reimbursed
Being able to travel by air as needed for domestic service calls. As Honeywell Enraf is an international equipment seller, the individual applicant may be asked to travel internationally at a future time
Strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Must possess and maintain a valid class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
Must not be afraid of heights as some Enraf Equipment is mounted on bulk storage tank tops within hand rails/walkways (avg. height 40 ft, tallest 160 ft.)
YOU MUST HAVE
6 years+ of proven experience in field service engineering, with a focus on complex technical solutions
Strong technical knowledge and expertise in relevant technologies
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in project management and execution
Strong customer focus and ability to build and maintain relationships

3 years petrochemical experience
Instrumentation background preferred
Sound trouble-shooting techniques
Computer applications related to the work, including Microsoft Office
Standard practices of records management, storage and retrieval
Technical mathematics through algebra
Mechanical aptitude
Standard report writing practices

Exhibiting good telephone skills and communicating with customer
Communicating effectively with customers, co-workers, and the general public, sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction
Being a self-starter, able to coordinate his/her own duties with customer needs
